What do the ingredients do?

Coconut oil: This is a moisturizing power. About 65% of coconut oil’s composition is medium-chain fatty acids like lauric acid and linoleic acid, which is why coconut oil is so beneficial to your skin. It soothes dry skin, helps treat mild wounds, hydrates skin and it can kill harmful microorganisms (effectively kill bacteria and fungi). It also has anti-inflammatory properties - which help reduce inflammation for many different types of skin disorders, including psoriasis, contact dermatitis, eczema and acne. Coconut oil also helps protect your skin from the sun - it has an estimated SFP factor of 7.

Mango butter: Mangoes are packed with fiber, vitamins (C, B6, A, E, and more), and minerals. They also contain folate, potassium, calcium, and beta carotene. Its fatty acid profile is full of oleic, stearic, and linoleic acids. Mango contains salicylic acid and antioxidants, which are known to protect from sun damage. It moisturizes and softens skin, and it is antibacterial and antimicrobial.

Shea butter: Contains linoleic, palmitic, stearic, and oleic fatty acids - ingredients that balance oils on your skin. It also has vitamins A, E, and F, which promote circulation and healthy skin cell growth. Its high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids make it a great product for smoothing, soothing, and conditioning your skin and locking in moisture. Safe for all skin types, it is moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, and may help prevent acne, stretch marks, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles as well as help soothe conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. Using shea butter on your skin does give you some added sun protection – it contains an estimated SPF of 3 to 4.

Sweet almond oil (Prunus Dulcis): This gentle oil contains Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Omega-3 fatty acid and Zinc. It prevents premature aging and has the ability to stimulate the production of new skin cells and smooth fine lines. Its antioxidant properties help reverse sun damage and reduce the appearance of scars. Because almond oil is an anti-inflammatory, it may also help ease swelling of the skin. It also has an estimated SPF of 6.

Beeswax: Beeswax has been used topically on the skin since ancient Egyptian times. Thanks to its antibacterial agents, beeswax has a long history of being used for certain skin issues, such as: psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, boils, wounds, etc. It benefits by softening and lubricating skin, preventing water loss and providing a protective barrier to the skin. Furthermore, it has antiseptic properties, which may help protect the skin from pathogenic microorganisms and thanks to its vitamin A, it helps skin regenerate sooner after damage.

Arrowroot powder: This natural powder is comprised of starches extracted from the arrowroot plant - Maranta arundinacea. Arrowroot powder is similar to cornstarch. It detoxifies, helps to moisturize skin, heals skin and calms skin irritations. It also helps with acne, oily and sensitive skin and rashes. Contains minerals, vitamins, zinc, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B6.

Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis): This oil is extracted from the rind of the sweet orange by cold pressing the oils from the rind. Orange essential oil not only lifts your mood and helps reduce stress, it also treats skin conditions such as acne; reduce pain or inflammation as well as relieve stomach upsets. It can be effective at stopping the growth of some types of bacteria and fungi. Studies have indicated that orange essential oil can inhibit the growth and lead to cell death in some cultured cancer cell lines.

Vitamin E: It moisturizes the skin as well as being anti-inflammatory and a powerful antioxidant that may be effective at reducing UV damage in skin and help nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals.

Bergamot essential oil (Citrus bergamia): Bergamot oil is extracted from the rinds of citrus fruit that grow on bergamot orange trees. Several compounds in bergamot oil have wound-healing activities, and anti-inflammatory properties. This may make bergamot oil beneficial for acne or other small wounds on the skin. Bergamot may also help improve psoriasis symptoms and it helps to reduce stress.
