What do the ingredients do?

Shea butter: Contains linoleic, palmitic, stearic, and oleic fatty acids - ingredients that balance oils on your skin. It also has vitamins A, E, and F, which promote circulation and healthy skin cell growth. Its high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids make it a great product for smoothing, soothing, and conditioning your skin and locking in moisture. Safe for all skin types, it is moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, and may help prevent acne, stretch marks, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles as well as help soothe conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. Using shea butter on your skin does give you some added sun protection – it contains an estimated SPF of 3 to 4.

Cocoa butter: Cocoa butter not only smells delicious but also has a luxurious feel to it. One common use of cocoa butter is to smooth scars, wrinkles, and other marks on the skin. It is high in fatty acids, which is why it’s often used for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. It forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Cocoa butter is rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays. It may also protect the skin from damage that can lead to premature aging. Cocoa butter is said to heal rashes from conditions like eczema and dermatitis.

Hemp seed oil: Hemp seed oil is perfect for most skin types as it moisturizes without clogging your pores. It soothes the skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles as well as prevents signs of aging from developing. It has unsaturated fats such as linoleic acid, γ-linolenic acid, and α-linolenic acid which help repair UV skin damage.  Hemp seed oil contains several compounds with oil-reducing, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties that may help improve acne vulgaris and inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea. This cold-pressed hemp seed oil is different from cannabidiol (CBD) oil, which is an extract of the cannabis plant and utilizes hemp flowers and leaves for its production. Hemp seed oil is made from the hemp seed itself and usually doesn’t contain any THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive component.

Avocado oil: The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents in avocado oil help your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic. The absorbent oil is thought to have numerous benefits for your skin – it calms itchy skin, heals chapped skin, replenishes dry skin, hydrates and moisturizes skin and protects against skin damage. The beta carotene, protein, lecithin, fatty acids, and vitamins A, D, and E found in avocado oil protect your skin from damaging UV rays - it acts as a natural sunblock with an estimated SPF of 4-10. Avocado oil may also help heal wounds and help treat skin conditions such as plaque psoriasis.

Arrowroot powder: This natural powder is comprised of starches extracted from the arrowroot plant - Maranta arundinacea. Arrowroot powder is similar to cornstarch. It detoxifies, helps to moisturize skin, heals skin and calms skin irritations. It also helps with acne, oily and sensitive skin and rashes. Contains minerals, vitamins, zinc, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B6.

Vitamin E: It moisturizes the skin as well as being anti-inflammatory and a powerful antioxidant that may be effective at reducing UV damage in skin and help nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals.

Rose essential oil (R. damascene): With antioxidants like vitamins A and C, rose oil can help promote skin cell turnover, which often slows down with age. In turn, this creates younger-looking skin with fewer lines. Rose may help to soften skin texture, balance oil levels, and reduce signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.

Patchouli essential oil: Patchouli oil is known for reducing pain and inflammation. It has antifungal, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. These qualities are especially helpful for treating skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, acne, and dry, cracked skin. It also helps to ease stress or anxiety and promotes feelings of relaxation.

Don’t use patchouli oil if…you’re taking blood thinners, you recently had or will undergo surgery or you have a bleeding disorder.
