Gluten-free date scones

Preparation: 5 minutes

Makes 8 scones

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups gluten free plain flour

  • 1/4 cup almond meal

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • pinch of salt

  • about 1/2 cup dates, diced

  • 50 g organic butter

  • 120 ml organic milk

 

Method:

 

  • ​Preheat the oven to 220 C (440 F).

  • Put the butter into a dish in the oven until melted.

  • Mix the flour, almond meal, baking powder, salt and dates together in a bowl.

  • Pour in the melted butter and milk and combine.

  • Tip out the mixture onto a lightly floured surface, form into a rectangle with your hands and cut into 8 pieces.

  • Put the 8 pieces close together onto a baking paper lined baking tray and brush the top with a little bit of extra milk.

  • Bake for 10 minutes.

  • Enjoy straight away while still warm.
